Feleipe Franks to undergo surgery next Monday; Recovery time six months

Dan Mullen confirmed Monday that Feleipe Franks' season is over.

“Feleipe is going to be out for the year,” Mullen said regarding his starting quarterback.

When asked to explain the specific injury, the Florida coach said Franks, had a “dislocated ankle, with a fracture.”

Mullen noted that the recovery process should take six months and that surgery is set for next Monday.

Mullen had this to say about Franks, who attended the team meeting Monday morning and noted he is as positive as can be, considering the situation.

“Obviously, it’s a tragic deal, to happen to anybody. You look at somebody at is a great leader on our team, that’s worked really hard to put himself in this position… To me, I saw the huge strides he made from last year to this year — in every aspect of his game. And so it’s always a tragic deal when that happens, for young guys.”
