Former Jaguars 10th overall draft pick Blaine Gabbert signs with Titans

Late Monday night the Tennessee Titans agreed to terms with QB Blaine Gabbert according to Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt. Titans HC Mike Vrabel discussed the signing Tuesday Morning at the NFL Owners Meeting. "If you use the metrics, the analytics, clearly that would say that you are probably are going to have to use a back-up quarterback,” said Vrabel. “Nobody would like to use a back-up quarterback. Everybody would like the quarterback to play 20 games and be in the Super Bowl. But we have to be able to get everybody ready to be able to go into the game and be able to execute at a high level.”

After being drafted by the Jaguars in 2011 with the 10th overall pick Gabbert threw 24 TDs and 24 INTs over 28 games in 3 seasons before being traded to the 49ers for a 6th round pick. Gabbert was 5-22 as a starter for the Jaguars.
