Jim McElwain has reportedly been offered a role with one of the highest-paid staffs in college football. According to The Wolverine Lounge, Michigan has extended an offer to McElwain to be the team’s 10th on-field coach, and would allow the former Gators head coach to call plays if he accepts.
Sources inside the program told The Wolverine Lounge that former Florida head coach Jim McElwain was on Michigan’s campus Tuesday for a job interview.
Walking around Schembechler Hall today, McElwain was approached with an assistant coaching opportunity at Michigan.
McElwain was offered to call plays with a title uncertain, per multiple sources. The interest from Michigan in hiring a new playcaller stems from assistant Dan Enos leaving for Alabama after being hired 17 days prior.
