Jags Content With Waiting on Bortles Option

Tom Coughlin, Dave Caldwell and Doug Marrone are all on the same page. If Blake Bortles wants to be "the guy" in Jacksonville going forward then things have to change and improvement must begin immediately.

“I think just like with everything we have done from the end of the season until now we get a lot of input from our coaches." said Jags Gm Dave Caldwell.  "We have OTAs. We have minicamps. We have a lot of things between now and then to see where he is at. I don’t think any decision will be made until closer to May.”

By exercising the fifth-year option on Bortles’ contract the 4th year QB would lock up $18 million.  The team has until May 3rd to exercise the option.
