Augusta National Makes Course Changes

2016 Masters- Previews

Augusta National has lengthened the par-4 fifth hole from 455 yards to 495 for this year's event, and in doing so has likely created one of the three hardest holes on the entire course.

Rex Hoggard, of Golf Channel, was the first to report the change. Plans for the 5th had been in the works for quite a while. The interesting part here is that to move the tee box back 40 yards, Augusta National had to do demolition work on one of the roads running next to its course.
