The San Francisco 49ers fear quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo suffered an ACL injury during the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters after the game.
Shanahan: “With Jimmy we’re fearing ACL. We’ll find out tomorrow. I haven’t had a chance to talk to him yet. I feel for him.”— San Francisco 49ers (@49ers) September 23, 2018
If Garoppolo is lost for any length of time, it would be a big blow to a San Francisco offense that has pegged its 2018 comeback hopes on him. After leading the 49ers to victory in every game he started last season, San Francisco signed him to a five-year, $137.5 million contract last offseason.
