The Number 4 overall pick from the 2017 NFL draft missed the Jaguars week 2 win over the patriots with a hamstring injury he sustained vs the Giants in week 1. Coach Doug Marrone was hopeful that Leonard would be able to play in the week 2 game, and he remains optimistic that he will be ready to participate as early as Wednesday when the team has their next practice.
Leonard Fournette (hamstring) still listed as day to day. Coach Marrone said if Fournette is ready, he will practice on Wednesday. No practice scheduled for Tuesday.#jaguars— John Reid (@JohnReid64) September 18, 2018
“I was really optimistic last week and obviously I was wrong. That’s the one thing that kicks me in the butt all the time now,” Marrone told reporters about Fournette. “Sometimes when I feel like he’s going to be alright and I want to say it and I don’t. Hey, this guy might not [play] and he does. Again, we took another test today and it was good. [Tuesday] will be another test. We’ll take it day-by-day.”
Sunday at 1:00 PM the Jaguars will host the Tennessee Titans.
