Odds for this years 4th of July Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest

Joey Chestnut, AKA "Jaws",  has already cemented a legacy as one of the most feared contenders in the competitive eating circuit, having won ten out of eleven 4th of July contests since 2007. He is listed as a -550 favorite, with the field being +325 according to OddSharks.com. A few other sites' odds provided below via Darren Rovell.

And when you're a dominating force in your field, your competition isn't your peers. Nay. Your competition is yourself. Joey is pumped to try to break his own record, which he has managed to do two years in a row leading up to this one. The current record is 72 hot dogs in the allotted 10 minutes. "Hopefully I can break it! I feel like I can do it. I know that if I find that crazy rhythm in the beginning I can do it.", Chestnut told TMZSports.com

If you're looking for an underdog to root for in this great American tradition, Carmon Cincotti came in 2nd place last year with 60 hot dogs, and many...experts...believe he could give Chestnut a run for his money and bring home the $10,000 first place prize AND the coveted Mustard Belt!
